Finally watched this show
2020.08.29 22:58 Aita01Finally watched this show
So hear are my thoughts (not that anyone has asked for them lol), I wrote them as I watched the show. TL:DR - Davina is a bitch Heather
looks like Heidi montag - but a prettier version. She has grown on me the most in season 1 then in season 2/3 she just seemed so immature - it’s like she regressed. Heather is just a follower. Did you know she was a vegan?
seems very naive at first - but she is an actress! So maybe she’s acting but I do think she’s the sweetest of them all. But she’s focusing on Christine when really it’s Davina who’s the bitch - I don’t get why she engages with her. Chrishell was wrong to share Mayas pregnancy news when it wasn’t hers to share. Did you know she was homeless? Poor Chrishell - her divorce...I mean imagine being blind sighted with 45 mins notice and then all of your colleagues, clients, family find out at the same time - before you’ve even processed it. She had no control in this. He’s not coming out of this well, what a dick. I don’t get why he didn’t try and do it privately and let them do a statement etc. Oh well what a dick.
is horrible can’t stand her, I’m Glad she’s hardly on screen in season 1. Every time she is onscreen I just roll my eyes. When romain was explaining why he wasn’t happy with her and she just put it back on him and said well why aren’t you happy etc? Saying as he couldn’t afford a diamond - it’s all his fault, she had to comment. If she has her broker licence - why doesn’t she just go and list the house herself. I’m so sorry that Chrishell is so guarded and won’t share the details of her divorce with you. I’m so sorry you’ve not been consulted in this decision. Yes of course Justin was going to be nice to you when you met. He wasn’t going to be a dick was he? What an idiot. Amanza hit on the head - he’s an ass, if you ask your partner not to speak someone and they go ahead and do so. Yes they’re an ass. Also she is so bland and dull, like no personality - no charisma - I’m surprised she’s in sales. no fashion sense. She doesn’t appear to have any redeeming qualities. But yeah let’s blame the edit.
in season 2 is different, you can tell the fame has got to her and she’s acts even more exaggerated. She’s so extra, like calm down. We get it you have money, expensive taste and you’re a boss bitch etc etc. She seems less and less authentic as the seasons go on. The only time I thought she was genuine was when she was talking to Amanza about how she admires everything she has to deal with. Did you know she owns what she says and hates drama? Nah she thrives on it. she looked very pretty on her wedding day though, her whole theme tied together and looked so picturesque, very instagram ready.
I like maya, I think she’s ok - I like that she’s into the development side of stuff. I think she’s probably the most neutral on the show in that she mixes with everyone and generally says it how it is - with tact. I like that she seems the most focused out of everyone I also think she’s the funniest. Her baby is so cute! I’m interested to see what happens with her as it’s hard to juggle work and family - and have a good work\life balance.
I don’t know....she seems nice but also seems out of touch with reality sometimes. > Mary looks a little bit like Malin Akerman. I think she gets more listings because she sells more - is that because she has more I don’t think so, I just think she manages her time and listings better.
seems very down to earth. I like her. She seems the most ‘real’. I feel for her with her struggles. She was so cute when she made her first sale.
Friendships and group dynamics.
I think Christine was just looking to be involved in the drama and she inserted herself into it in season 1 ending argument between Chrishell and Davina. Which then caused friction between her and Mary. She caused more drama and inserted herself in it again by telling Davina she wasn’t invited to Mary’s wedding before Mary could. Like why? Season 1 Christine was all Mary is my Ride or die etc etc. Suddenly, Davina is her number one. Christine is only loyal to her drama and herself. Then she didn’t tell Mary she was engaged but told Davina. Now her and Davina are besties! Again making Christine herself the centre of attention. Same with Christine and heather - Christine openly said she didn’t like her etc etc and now again they’re a little group and she takes Heather wedding shop dressing? Then Christine (and Davina) get jealous of Heather being papped. (Davina I’m not surprised you’re not being papped) When season 2 started Heather was hanging with Mary and Chrishell at the start but is now besties with the other two. Why does Chrishell keep engaging Davina, bitch is a snake. Don’t. The difference in friendships between Mary/Amanza/Chrishell and Christine/Davina/Heather is so apparent. One group supports each other and the other just tear others down. Maya going between both groups and remaining ‘friendly’ with everyone. It’s all so dramatic and high school. Amanza was right when she said couldn’t be bothered with that. I think I prefer Brett to Jason. I don’t mind Romain he seems ok but I loved him when he called Davina out and said she was a snake. Yessss!
2020.08.24 02:59 DavrosdaleksIJW: The SLeepover (2020)
https://jwwreviews.blogspot.com/2020/08/the-sleepover.html 6/10 This family film on Netflix is about siblings Clancy (played by Sadie Stanley) and Kevin (Maxwell Simkins) who find out that their mom (the Watchmen movie/Childrens Hospital's Malin Akerman) is an ex-thief who's been kidnapped along with their dad (Childrens Hospital's Ken Marino) and forced to do one last job. The children end up pursuing them with their friends. So basically, it's kind of the setup to Spy Kids 4-D with the execution of Adventures in Babysitting. (Just not as fantastic as the former and played safer than the latter.) I found this to be alright. This is one of those films that doesn't do enough to separate itself from the pack. You can predict where a lot of things are going and the children have some really basic, worn-out personal storylines. The first act is particularly average cause you don't see anything new just the traditional children's movie family issues. The Sleepover is generally entertaining, there are several good moments and lines throughout, but the quality isn't consistent. The strength in this is more in the little moments than the general storyline. I give the movie credit for not just predictably being about just the children's adventure. The parents' storyline is given just as much focus. However, it bugs me that the movie spends way too much time focusing on the dad being upset with his wife's secret and jealous of her ex-partner (Joe Manganiello). They never really convince you why the couple married or get you root for their relationship. I particularly think that Marino (who's a versatile actor and really should be in more stuff) was given a bad break as he does a good job of playing the character as he's supposed to be played but just isn't given the proper dialogue to work with. The cast's good. The standout is probably Simkins as he does a great job of nailing the odd goofball. His character demanded the most stuff, and he was game for all of it. Though it's a small role, Erik Griffin lights up each scene as the mom's witness protection handler. If the crime portion of this story got your hopes up: no, there isn't a lot of action. The budget for this appeared to be pretty low. I know I've been hard on this film, but it does have it's charm. As something to park your kids in front of, I think they'd like it. It's just as an adult viewer there is nothing about this to make it must-see viewing.
So I got a bit bored and decided to start a series on what is basically celebrity survivor. Hoping to get through all the seasons, but not sure yet. This'll probably be updated sporadically. Anyway, to pick the celebrities I used a celebrity generator and took all the living ones (sorry Gengis Khan) to make the first season, so please welcome the cast: Sabah Tribe:
Cee Lo Green
John C Reilly
Melissa Joan Hart
Sean "P. Diddy" Combs
Link: http://brantsteele.net/survivoborneo/r.php?c=CcortxG6 Note: I randomized all the stats before it began so as to create something extra drama. Episode 1: Obviously the first episode gets off to a dramatic starts with everyone creating alliances as quickly as possible. On Sabah Noami quickly gets to work on creating a majority alliance bringing in Cee Lo, Peter, Mark and Beth. Meanwhile Diane and Rob quickly get along and form an alliance bringing in outsider Jodie to form a majority. Over on Satawak Marlon decides to form an alliance with the girl with Kesha, Malin and Olivia joining him however Melissa isn't convinced and refuses to join. Noticing Marlon forming an alliance RuPaul, P. Diddy and John form an alliance of their own with the hopes of convincing the girl's to turn. In the immunity challenge Satawak win and get 50 waterproof matches while Sabah head to the first ever elimination ceremony. As elimination looms Naomi convinces Jodie that Diane and Rob are planning on turning on her causing the alliance between the three to break down. Seeing Jodie as unstable Diane and Rob try to convince the rest of the tribe to vote her out but Naomi notices the strength between the two. In a vote of 6-2 Diane is the first eliminated. Episode 2: We start the episode out with Sabah winning the reward challenge. Following this however Rob, knowing he is the next target plants the seed of doubt in the majority alliance, weakening the strength. At immunity Sabah is unable to keep their slight momentum going and lose to Satawak in the immunity challenge again. Rob quickly tries to convince everyone to blindside Mark and in a 5-2 vote completely fails with only Jodie siding with him. This angers the alliance. Episode 3: In the reward challenge Sabah take home another reward of a treasure chest full on fishing gear. Between challenges Mark proves his worth to the tribe with all the work he does around camp. Meanwhile on Satawak being on the island starts to get to John as he isolates himself from the tribe, leading to him leaving his alliance with RuPaul and P Diddy. This doesn't stop Satawak taking home another immunity win and unsurprisingly in a vote of 5-1 Jodie is voted out by the majority alliance. Episode 4: Another reward challenge, this time going to Satawak gaining a few comforts such as hammocks and spices. With the majority alliance unsure what to do tensions rise on Sabah with Mark and Peter getting in a fight which Cee Lo, Naomi and Beth being forced to break it up. Despite this, Sabah took home their first immunity win. Satawak are forced to go to the elimination ceremony for the first time with two sides forming plans on who to eliminate. P. Diddy and RuPaul decide to take down Olivia and set off to try to convince John and Melissa to vote with them. Meanwhile Marlon and his girls decide to take down P. Diddy, knowing he was the brains of the other alliance. John sticks with his old alliance in the vote while Melissa agrees to help them knowing Marlon's alliance will have all the control if he wins. The votes are 4-4 and in the revote Melissa decides against risking a tie and flips sending P. Diddy home in a 4-2 revote. Episode 5: Following P. Diddy's elimination RuPaul is now without an alliance. Knowing Marlon now controls the team RuPaul meets up with John and despite not wanting to also Melissa. They decide to try to convince the girl's to end the alliance with Marlon. Satawak win their second reward challenge winning fruit and chickens. Assuming the alliance is over Beth isolates herself from the rest of her tribe which doesn't help in the immunity challenge which Satawak win. Naomi manages to keep his alliance strong despite Beth trying to convince him to vote out Peter following their fight. In the end Beth goes home in a 4-1 vote. Episode 6: Satawak take a third straight challenge earning canned food and a chocolate bar. Cee Lo and Mark talk and form a closer bond as RuPaul, John and Melissa's plan surprisingly work with Marlon's alliance completely dissolving with everyone going their own way. However with the merge approaching Malin discusses an idea with the team and they agree to form an alliance to get rid of Sabah when the merge arrives. In the immunity challenge Satawak win again. With elimination on the line Mark and Naomi clash, with both trying to convince Peter to vote the other out. Peter sides with Mark and Cee Lo knowing it is safer and Naomi goes home in a 3-1 vote. Episode 7: The Merge Kesha wins immunity and Satawak recognise Mark as the head of Sabah. Mark, Cee Lo and Peter try to convince Satawak to switch on Marlon but it fails and in a 7-3 vote Mark is sent packing. Episode 8: Peter wins the reward challenge to start things off, getting a video from home and being able to send one back. Melissa wins immunity and Satawak set their sights on Mark's closest partner. Cee Lo goes home 7-2. Episode 9: Melissa wins the reward challenge and shares a BBQ feast and letter from home with Peter. Peter attempts to convince her to flip on Satawak before befriending Malin, trying to convince her to flip as well. RuPaul wins immunity and while Peter rallies for Marlon's elimination, Satawak stick together and vote Peter out 7-1 Episode 10: With Sabah gone the members of Satawak attempt to start setting plans in motion to be the last remaining. Marlon wins the reward challenge to get a pizza and phone call home before a fight breaks out between Ke$ha and Olivia with both vowing to see the other eliminated. Marlon wins immunity and Olivia fails to convince anyone to vote Ke$ha, going home in a vote of 6-1. Episode 11: John wins the reward challenge to get a night on a cruise ship and decides to take Ke$ha with him. While the are gone Melissa bonds with RuPaul and the two set up an agreement to reach the finale two together. Ke$ha takes home immunity and everyone agrees to blindside Marlon, knowing how he's willing to play from the start of the game. A 5-1 vote sees Marlon (finally) leave the island. Episode 12: Ke$ha wins the reward of a beer and be taken to view the first 5 minutes of the season in a mysterious bar. Melissa wins immunity. Using the information she found out at the bar Ke$ha convinces everyone John is a threat and he finds himself the next to leave the island. Finale: Malin and RuPaul bond before Melissa wins the first immunity of the episode. In the elimination ceremony RuPaul shows little care for his new friendship with Malin sending her packing in a 3-1 vote, instead of Ke$ha like she planned. The episode continues with another immunity challenge which RuPaul wins. Melissa annoys RuPaul and Ke$ha while trying to convince RuPaul to keep her in, but it doesn't matter as RuPaul honours his final 2 deal and Ke$ha is sent home. The Reunion: By vote of 6-1, the first every winner of celebrities gone wild is Melissa Joan Hart. The jury felt that due to the high number of immunity wins she had, it seemed right to give it to her. Fan Favourite: Marlon Wayans Most Strategic: Malin Akerman, Melissa Joan Watts and Naomi Watts My thoughts: A pretty dramatic season with plenty of good twists as the like of Marlon and Mark started off strong but collapsed when the merge hit. RuPaul and Melissa managed to avoid getting a single vote the whole season. One flaw is that as often happens with these earlier survivor sims, one tribe gets completely Pagonged, in this case with Sabah's last three members getting sent home pretty quick. I think some of the best times on this season was the fact that Emma, Lily, Sarah and I could not contain ourselves whenever Franny was acting out Myrtle. Too hilarious. We couldn't look each other in the eye. Silent laughter for days.
I feel like the idea of reliving moments we qualify as "the best times" sounds better than it is. I am guilty of reminiscing and dying for the chance to be able to go back to a time that brings smiles to my face and butterflies to my stomach. But then I think about it, and what if you go back and end up discovering the imperfections of the moment? Then that special cherished occasion is tainted. Too difficult of a decision. I think we're lucky to have our memories.
Hi! The wardrobe and fashion on American Horror Story is so incredible. I'm especially loving this season's! Lou, the costume designer, is such a talent. My style is slightly different, but that doesn't mean I couldn't walk away from set with a few pieces out of Zoe's closet ;]
Evan is an incredible actor and it's been amazing to have him as a scene partner. We luckily work well together on set. The whole AHS cast seems to have a good chemistry. Another thing I love about this show.
She is so talented! I'm really, really happy that I've gotten quite a bit of screen time with her this season. That's something that's funny about this show. It's huge. So many cast members. Sometimes you don't even meet your costars until months later!
I love the idea of teleporting. Being able to appear and reappear in another spot. Transporting yourself to either somewhere far, far away for just a minute. Or even to the fridge during commercial break. It would be perfect.
For me, I love getting to be someone else for a little while. It's exhilarating. Because sometimes you get to look really deep inside yourself and pull out a new version of your personality that you didn't know was there.
I haven't imagined too far into the future yet! I'd obviously love to continue this for a long time. Right now though I'm content on living in the moment and taking characters that I feel a spark with. I do like to write, but haven't attempted a script thus far!
I'm a huge fan of Mary Louise Parker. Sadly, I did not have any scenes with her in Jamesy Boy. But I did sit next to her once in the hair / make up trailer and I was far too shy to do anything but stare at myself in the mirror. I think I regret it just a little bit.
I loved working with Trevor! I loved that we formed a friendship before he was technically my director and it's one that I hope we continue for a very long time. I also loved the part that my character, Sarah, played in the movie. It wasn't the biggest role, but she had one of the most important jobs. And that was being this litter flickering beam of hope in James' life. You may seem insignificant in this giant world, but everyone can be someone else's inspiration, and sometimes it's enough to save a life.
I don't. I do think it's possible to take any experience you've had and view it in a positive way. Because you're always learning something from your experiences, if you choose to acknowledge it. But personally, so far, I've loved every project I've been a part of!
Higher Ground was my first experience. Vera was there as my director and she was there to guide me. She's my older sister, so it was easy for me to fall into the role of doing what she tells me to. And in At Middleton... Vera is 21 years older than me. She's my cool older sister and, when needed, protective mother figure. Our relationship has so many sides to it. At Middleton was just another example. But I truly loved being able to share the screen with her in At Middleton, which is what I didn't get to do in Higher Ground.
